Game description
Corners is a logical checkers game in which the players' pieces are lined up in opposite corners of the playing field. As in chess, the first to go here is white, but unlike classical chess, the purpose of the game is not to remove all the opponent's pieces from the field, but to move your pieces to the place of the opponent's pieces and prevent him from doing the same.
Rules of the game
1. White always moves first
2. You can only move vertically and horizontally in any direction for one cell. You can make multi-pass moves through the opponent's pieces and your own.
3. The winner is the one who first moves all his checkers to the place of the opponent's checkers.
4. The opponent's checkers in this variant of the game can not be beaten.
Features of the game corners in checkers
- This game has one point. If you make mirror moves like your opponent that will be 100% draw. This should be taken into account if you play corners with a real opponent, not a computer.
- A player will lose if he has more than one checker in his corner on his 41st move.
- A player will lose if he moves his checker to his corner after 40 moves or more.
The last 2 rules are designed to avoid cheating, when a player moves his checkers back and forth to avoid freeing up cells in his corner.
This game perfectly develops logical thinking, stimulates the ability to think and analyze, which can use the game corners not only for entertainment, but also for the intellectual development of children and adults.
